When you are asking an eggdrop question always provide the version of the eggdrop bot. If this is a question from using the eggdrop generators here the next time someone comes across is please feel free to ask me if they are not sure, but I will tell you what I think this is referring to.

I think it is referring to the step of setting either your my-ip or my-hostname.

When using virtual hosting the servers most likely have more than one IP on them so you need to tell your eggdrop which IP your eggdrop is going to bind to (where your eggdrop is physically located). You can do this by setting my-IP _or_ my-hostname. Remember it is one or the other you will not have these both uncommented and filled out.

Please refer to the following website when editing your eggdrop.conf http://eggwiki.org/Eggdrop.conf . To find what we were discussing above just search that page for my-ip or my-hostname. If you use that Sample eggdrop.conf and are in a hurry and only edit the sections that are in the red you still will have success. http://www.egghelp.org/setup.htm is another good site to reference while setting up your eggdrop. Good luck!
