Unable to connect to IRC network LIBERA.CHAT (and freenode.net, other networks either)
8  893 {{tagitem.name}}
Hello everyone. Appx 2-4 months ago I noticed that my free shell cannot connect to IRC anymore.

*** Connecting to port 6667 of server irc.libera.chat

*** Connection closed from irc.libera.chat: Remote end closed connection

*** Connecting to port 6667 of server irc.libera.chat

*** Connection closed from irc.libera.chat: Remote end closed connection

*** Unable to connect to server irc.libera.chat

*** Use /SERVER to connect to a server

-- the same for IRCnet, EFnet, (ex)freenode.net, etc.

Can someone explain - is this official forbid rule to visit IRC networks from free shells of shellz.com or what ?

Thanks in advance !

We have just tried to connect from irssi on free server to irc.libera.chat and it works just fine. Check your IRC client.

I use ircII that is my default irc client since 1994 (I update it time to time), and it works FINE on other shells - except for xshellz one :/ So, StephenS, you sure that I have no deny rule for my account to visit irc, yes ?

It seems that the log is from znc, and we have tried on irssi client and it works just fine. No restrictions from our side on your shell.

Hmm, I've runned xshellz' irssi and it really connecting to irc.libera.chat... any idea why I cannot make connection with my compiled ircII client ?

I have no idea how ircII works, you need to check with their development team.

I just recompiled ircII and got working version of this irc client.

I assume that something has changed on the host itself but its ok and - Thanks, StephenS :)
