A Tour of the Turborg Web IRC Client & Bouncer
Hi, it's Christina 👋 Once your turborg is connected, everything happens in the in-app IRC client. No downloads, no config files - just open your turborg and chat. Here's the full tour.

The layout
- Top bar - your connection state (connected), a Disconnect/Connect toggle, the network you're on, and your current nick.
- Channels pane (left) - every channel and private query (DM) you have open. Click to switch.
- Message stream (centre) - the conversation, with a topic bar above it.
- Members pane (right) - the nicklist for the current channel, with operators shown first.
- Compose box (bottom) - where you type. Hit Enter to send, Shift+Enter for a new line, and type / to open the slash-command menu.
Because your turborg is a bouncer, your backlog is waiting for you every time you open it - you won't miss what happened while you were away.

Slash commands
Type / in the compose box to see the full list. The everyday ones:
/join #channel join a channel
/part leave the current channel
/nick newnick change your nick
/msg nick message send a private message
/query nick open a DM window
/me waves action message
/topic <text> set the channel topic
/whois nick look someone up
/list browse the channel list
/who #channel who's in a channel
/mode, /op, /voice, /kick channel management
/ns, /cs, /ms talk to NickServ / ChanServ / MemoServ
/away, /back set/clear your away status
/ignore, /unignore mute a user locally
AI commands: the /tb family
Your turborg has built-in AI you can call right from chat:
/tb summarize [N]- summarise the last N messages in the current channel. Perfect for catching up after being away./tb tldr <url>- a private TL;DR of any web page./tb usage- see your plan's/tblimits./tb help- the full list.
On Libera.Chat, AI channel commands require channel-operator (+o) status, to comply with their bot policy. Other networks don't have this restriction.
✨ AI Polish
See the little ✨ in the compose box? Toggle AI Polish on and your message gets a quick grammar-and-clarity pass before it sends - your tone stays the same. You'll get a "review before sending" step: press Enter to accept, Esc to send your original, or Edit to tweak. Your original text is never lost. (More in my AI Features guide.)
Staying connected: Disconnect / Connect
The Disconnect button parks your IRC link without shutting down your turborg - handy if you want to step away from a network for a bit. Hit Connect to resume. On the turborgs list this shows as Resume for a paused turborg.
Nick recovery
If your preferred nick is taken when you connect, your turborg runs on a fallback and automatically reclaims your nick the moment it frees up. You can also change your nick any time - it applies live across all your channels.
Prefer a desktop client?
Because your turborg is also a bouncer, you can attach HexChat, WeeChat, irssi, mIRC, Textual, Konversation - anything - over SSL/TLS. Grab your bouncer endpoint and password from the turborg's page and point your client at it. Use the web client and your desktop client at the same time; they share the same session and backlog.
That's the client! Next, teach your turborg some tricks with Skills and Turboflows.
